Actually I feel the AF on my 7d mark ii is working fine. In fact all the concerns of the AF or IQ arise from my plan to buy a Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art lens in the near future. Because I heard some perple having front or back focus problems with those lens, so I just try to pratice how to test the AF performance of a lens. 01-05-2018 08:53 PM. Hi -. I had the same issue. I am a long time Canon user and just purchased the 6D Mark ii at the end of November. I primarily use three lenses and all three had to be micro adjusted - one up to -14 and still wasn't focusing properly. Two of my lenses are Canons. Canon 50mm 1.8. Canon 70-200mm 2.8. Shoot, I purchased a 6dMarkII the end of November and struggled with this exact problem. I returned the camera to B&H and got a new one, but am still unhappy with the inconsistent forward focusing I'm experiencing. I think I'm outside of my return period and am tempted to try and have it repaired. D You can try a complete reset and set up from scratch. However, given your time with the 6D, you are probably in a good position to evaluate if something isn't right with the new body. Doesn't seem right that every single lens you own including Canon has to be adjusted. With you only being 3 mo wrote: Thank you for the information! There is also a web site link that you can use, too, to set up a return authorization ticket. . On the side of the lens are three adjustment buttons. 1.stabilizer on/off, 2.af/mf, and 3.20m-Full/infinity. Mine was set to infinity when it should be set at the other setting. This might help 🙂. Recently upgraded to R6 and works great with my Canon 70-200 and Tamron 18-400 lenses. However, I recently purchased the Canon RF 800mm and I am Canon G7X Mark iii Backorder in Point & Shoot Digital Cameras 12-29-2023; EOS Rebel T5i, EOS Utility Not Working - Unique issue in Camera Software 12-28-2023; EOS 6D Mark II - Cannot Display Saved Images in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras 12-28-2023; Issue with Canon EOS 750 Connection to EOS Utility in EOS DSLR & Mirrorless Cameras 12-28-2023 I do landscape photography and sometimes social events, such as weddings. The RP kit with the RF24-105mm F4-7.1 L IS STM is cheaper than the 6D MK II 17-40mm f4 L USM. The 6D weather sealing and better battery are great. If your len (es) are O.K. and the lighting isn't extremely funky (backlit, fog, so dark you can't see), your 5D III should achieve nearly 100% lock. Perhaps playing with some different focus point patterns or focus modes will fix the issue. Look at the focus menu, particularly at the "Case" modes. AI Servo priority, etc. Purchased first one just before Thanksgiving and the second one at the beginning of February - both from Beach Camera. Good luck!!
